Terms of Service

1. About ClaimOn
ClaimOn (claimon.ai) is a web-based tool that provides step-by-step guidance for individuals making money claims through the UK small claims court (England and Wales). It is operated by Chris Andrews.
By using ClaimOn, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. ClaimOn is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice
ClaimOn provides general information and guidance about the small claims court process. It is not a substitute for legal advice from a qualified solicitor or barrister.
The guidance, templates, and tools provided by ClaimOn are intended to help you understand and navigate the process. They are based on publicly available information about the court system in England and Wales. Every claim is different, and ClaimOn cannot account for all circumstances.
If you are unsure whether a small claim is the right course of action, or if your case involves complex legal issues, we strongly recommend consulting a qualified legal professional. Many solicitors offer a free initial consultation, and Citizens Advice can provide free guidance.
ClaimOn does not guarantee any particular outcome for your claim.
3. What the service includes
Free features (Stages 1–2): The eligibility check and Letter Before Action generator are free to use, with no payment required.
Paid features (Stages 3–5): The claim preparation, court submission guide, and follow-up guidance are available for a one-off payment of £29.99 per claim. This payment is non-recurring — there is no subscription.
Payment is processed by Stripe. ClaimOn does not see or store your card details.
4. Refunds
Because ClaimOn provides digital guidance that is available immediately after payment, the paid features are accessible as soon as your payment is confirmed.
If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from accessing the paid features, or if you believe you were charged in error, please contact us through our website and we will resolve the issue or provide a refund.
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day right to cancel a digital purchase. However, by using the paid features immediately after payment, you acknowledge that you may lose this right of cancellation once you have accessed the paid content. If you have not accessed any paid content, you are entitled to a full refund within 14 days.
5. Your data and your responsibility
Your claim data is stored in your browser's local storage on your own device. ClaimOn does not store your claim data on any server and cannot recover it if it is lost.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter. ClaimOn populates court documents and letters using the details you provide — if those details are wrong, the documents will be wrong.
You are also responsible for keeping your device and browser secure. Anyone with access to your device may be able to see your claim data.
For full details of how we handle data, see our Privacy Policy.
6. AI-powered features
ClaimOn uses AI (Anthropic's Claude) to offer optional smart features, such as generating a timeline from your claim evidence. When you use these features, relevant claim text is sent to Anthropic's API for processing.
AI-generated content is provided as a starting point. You should always review and, if necessary, edit any AI-generated text before using it in your claim. AI can make mistakes, and you are responsible for the accuracy of any documents you submit to the court.
Use of AI features is optional. The manual tools (timeline builder, text fields) are always available as an alternative.
7. MCOL auto-fill bookmarklet
ClaimOn provides an optional bookmarklet that can auto-fill form fields on the Money Claim Online (MCOL) website using the details you have entered in ClaimOn.
The bookmarklet fills fields but does not submit any forms. You must review every filled field before proceeding on MCOL. ClaimOn is not responsible for errors if you submit forms without checking the auto-filled values.
The bookmarklet is provided as a convenience tool. If MCOL changes its website layout, the bookmarklet may not work correctly. In that case, enter your details manually.
8. Court fees and external costs
The £29.99 ClaimOn fee covers access to the guidance tool only. Court fees, enforcement fees, and any other costs associated with your claim are separate and are payable directly to HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS).
ClaimOn displays estimated court fees based on publicly available fee schedules. These may change. Always check the current fees on the GOV.UK website before submitting your claim.
9. Limitation of liability
ClaimOn is provided "as is". While we make every effort to ensure the guidance is accurate and up to date, we cannot guarantee that it is complete, correct, or suitable for your specific circumstances.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ClaimOn is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the service, including (but not limited to) unsuccessful claims, missed deadlines, incorrect court filings, or reliance on AI-generated content.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
10. Service availability
We aim to keep ClaimOn available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control.
Because your claim data is stored locally on your device, you can continue to access your saved data even if the website is temporarily unavailable (by opening the app page from your browser cache or a saved copy).
11. Acceptable use
You may use ClaimOn for its intended purpose: preparing and managing money claims through the UK small claims court. You must not use the service to submit false or fraudulent claims, or to harass or intimidate any person.
You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute ClaimOn's code, design, or content without permission.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from the use of ClaimOn will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the current version. Continued use of ClaimOn after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
14. Contact
If you have any questions about these terms, please contact us through our website.
